Audience
High School Counselors, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Instructors
RealTech III is June 16-20 and Registration Deadline is May 8, 2008
RealTech IV is July 14-18 and Registration Deadline is May 29, 2008
You may register here.
Participants will
- Be required to sign a contract to attend the entire 5 day camp.
- Prepare a work plan that incorporates what they have learned into their teaching or counseling tasks for the following academic year.
- Deliver a 3-minute synopsis of the impact of the experience or opinion about technical education.
Highlights will be
- Each day will include and industry speaker, telling about the jobs available and/or skills required to be successful in their respective business.
- Tours of area Business/Industry with a focus on the need for employees with technical skills
TSTC West Texas will provide
- $100/day for your participation (Maximum 20 participants) Must attend all 5 days
- 2 meals per day
- Lodging in our dorms
- 40 hours of TEA CE Credits
Expected Outcomes
- Increased awareness of necessary STEM courses for high school graduates.
- Increased awareness of opportunities for TSTC graduates.
- Increased awareness of potential job satisfaction and rewarding technology careers.
Objectives
- Create an immersive experience in technology education for High School educators.
- Place High School educators in classrooms and labs with hands-on experiences.
- Organize teams and provide exposure to multiple disciplines.
- Incorporate industry presentations on changes in the workplace and future employment opportunities.
